Weekend

Met up with some friends Friday night at Luke's football game for a few drinks before leaving for what we thought was going to be a frightening trip to the Jaycee's haunted house. Turns out, with the rains and cool temperatures, not many people were out for the haunting Friday night and they closed up the haunted house right as we were pulling into the parking lot. We opted, instead, to walk down Caroline Street to this little pub called The Blarney Stone. We hadn't been out to an actual bar in quite some time. It was a nice time, and almost nostalgic being among the University of Mary Washington crowd. Some days I wish I could go back and do the college thing all over again. Then other days I'm completely at peace with where I am today. I love my family and I love the opportunities that have been provided for me, but my one regret is that of not taking my education a bit more seriously. I was enrolled in Radford for four and a half years, all expenses paid, and not for a second did I realize the importance or the expense of what I was pissing away with fraternity parties and sleeping in. I blew it. But you know what? I don't think my life has turned out all that badly. I'm an intelligent and successful business co-owner. And? I get to sleep with the boss!
Had a bunch of people over Saturday night for our monthly poker tournament. Luke and I both played exceptionally well, and I plan on blowing most of my winnings in Target tomorrow morning, followed by a few trips online to kick off my Christmas shopping. The boys haven't given me much to go on as far as a wish list goes. Justin has stated that he would love to have an electric guitar and amplifier, along with a few new games for the Wii. Ryan, on the other hand, hasn't told me much of anything. He'll watch television and be all "I WANT THAT" during the commercials, but I haven't yet started writing them down. A Diego Rescue Center? Seriously? Because you don't even watch Diego anymore, citing it's for babies. I think he knows that they have everything already, and is only searching for things to have resting under our Christmas tree, compliments of The Claus. I'm all for a deposit into their savings, or something along those lines. Money that they will have when the need it, and not just spending frivolously on something that will land in the Goodwill about six months from now. Bleh. The whole thought of it all just sickens me.
Do I even need to tell you what a wonderful day we had on Sunday? Happy first birthday to our sweet little niece, we love you!!
