Tis The Season
|
Our Thanksgiving holiday was superb; complete with both of our families at our house for lunch. Jokingly, Luke referred to it as being like the wedding reception we never had. At least, not yet anyway, but that's for another post.
Mom and I have spent many days doing our shopping together; though this year, she wasn't able to tackle Black Friday with me. Instead, I dove head first into that morning with a girlfriend of mine. Not too early, and not for anything in particular, but definitely in search of plentiful sales!
I am nearly finished with my decorating, with only a few things left to do on our outside. My shopping is nearly complete, holiday portraits taken, and cards being written out this weekend. I have the endless task of wrapping rearing its ugly head, as well as the meticulous task of writing down all that has been stashed for the boys, in an effort to keep their loot of equal ridiculousness.
Our children are so incredibly rotten that Mom has a list going ON A SHEET OF LEGAL SIZED NOTEBOOK PAPER, and each of her three grandchildren have their very own column of already purchased Christmas goodies beneath their name. All of which are FROM HER. She is completely out of control, and as a result, making it extremely difficult to find gifts to give from their MOM AND DAD, much less gifts from The Claus.
I love the giving. And for that reason, I am more than excited for this Christmas. I have some pretty exciting things up my sleeve this year; at least I think they're exciting. We'll see in just 25 short days! |
